Companies will usually tell you what you need to bring for an interview, but it’s good to have an ‘interview kit’ prepared so that you can go for interviews at a moment’s notice, or for career fairs and other networking events.
Your interview kit should contain the following items:
- At least two copies of your CV
Make sure you update the CV copies in your interview kit at the same time as you update your CV.
- Photostat copies of your degrees/diplomas, certificates, testimonials and any documents supporting your qualifications
Keep one set in your document case at all times. Remember to add copies of any new supporting documents that you receive.
- Passport-sized photos for the application form
Bring at least two.
- Pen and notebook to fill out forms or take notes during the interview
Do not depend on the interviewer to provide stationery for your use! It's a good idea to take notes during the interview.
Keep these items neatly in a briefcase or a document case.
