What did you do at university?
Apart from academic activities, I managed the public relations department of the Student Representative Council Exco with 12 committee members under my leadership. Being a student representative requires me to organise internal and external campus events, build relationships with the campus management board and other universities, and be the bridge between students and management. I was also very passionate about social responsibility events where I tutored unfortunate children and gave motivational talks atorphanages.

Why did you choose a career in your field?
IT and people development are my passions. I have chosen a career that provides me with space for growth and vast opportunities to learn. Today’s world is heavily dependent on IT, as such, it gives me the opportunity to explore andgrow at the same time.

What do you do in your job?
I just finished the three-year Graduate Programme with Shell and was offered a lead role in eBanking. Currently, I am running a team with six direct reports and support global operations for eBanking applications. I also need to ensure seamless integration across organisations and the smooth delivery of support services to businesses with compliance ontop of our priority.

What do you like most about your job?
Being in the operation field, I am able to face different challenges every day. It gives me the stretch that I need and it is very rewarding when you can see the value that my team provides to the business. The working environment is also very positive as my ideas and achievements are recognised and valued.

What skills do you consider to be essential for your job?
I am leading a team that handles the financial system, Hence, work ethics as well as proper control and compliance are very essential to my work. It is important to respect people around me and to conduct business with honesty and integrity as my work revolves around me having to work with many differentstakeholders.

What are your future plans?
Shell provides me with globalexposure and the opportunity forme to experience more than whatI could have imagined. With all theplatforms that are provided to me, Ibelieve that I can become a catalystfor change and in time, a leader.I am an ambitious person, and itis not wrong to be ambitious as itgives me the drive I need to achievemy dreams.
