What do you do?

The protection of old buildings with historical value and the art of their conservation are taught in this course. The technical and practical knowledge as well as skills and critical abilities that you acquire from the course will help to improve the operational practice of historic conservation, within the context of built heritage and the processes encompassed by urban planning.

Besides that, the course will also equip you with the expertise to respond to challenges such as the deterioration of environmentally sensitive and fragile building materials. You will study about historic buildings, and the management and technical means required for the conservation and enhancement of heritage buildings. You will gain a thorough understanding of the field of historic conservation.

Hospitality and tourism management

What do you do?

Hospitality and tourism management is a broad field that extends beyond hotel and tour operations. The course encompasses the management of hospitality, food, travel, entertainment services, event planning, business operation, humanities and social science. You will also be exposed to communication and administrative disciplines.

Your scope of work will depend on the size of the hotel you work in. In large establishments, you may be in charge of just one area of hotel operations. Apart from working in the hotel industry, you can also work in restaurants, resorts, clubs and event management, just to name a few.

Tourism management

Generally, the course provides a foundation for people-centric individuals who have a strong interest in travel and cultural diversity.

Job opportunities can be found in travel agencies, tourism marketing agencies, leisure landscape planning and development firms, event marketing agencies, the government (tourism policymaking), tourism consultancies, cultural and heritage centres as well as research firms.
