About the job
ROLE PURPOSE
To conduct quantitative-based research activities in the Economics Sector to improve the understanding of macroeconomic issues and where relevant, assist the formulation of policy recommendations by the Bank and Government to promote sustainable economic growth.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- To conduct relevant research according to the Economics Sector’s Research Framework and regularly produce high quality working papers.
- To perform research in improving macroeconomic surveillance, forecasting, scenario planning and policy analysis.
- To deliver working papers in a timely manner and communicate key research findings to Management.
- To build a strong network with government agencies, academicians, and external experts to increase research collaboration across a diverse range of policy issues pertinent to both the Bank and broader Government.
- To be up to date on emerging issues and research frontiers from academic publications and other institutional research.
QUALIFICATION
- Academic Qualifications: A Bachelor or Master’s degree in Economics, Econometrics, Mathematics or Data Science. Familiarity with economic theory and econometric techniques is essential. A PhD is an added advantage.
- Experience: Working experience in the field of monetary and economic research, or work requiring rigorous quantitative application, is an advantage.
